Employee work schedules in Block period format

A feature has been added to SmartFind Express to allow employee work schedules to be defined in individual block periods, like Block A from 8:05 AM to 9:00 AM, Block B from 9:05 AM to 10:00 AM, and so on. This feature can be enabled by choosing a new parameter within the menu path: select Parameters, Employee, Browser Access section, and then select Enable block periods for employee schedules.

  1. Within the Location profile, a tab named Block times has been added. Block name and block start or end times can be defined in this new section.

  2. When the parameter for the Block period schedule is enabled, within the Schedule tab from the Administrator view, two radio buttons are displayed: Day schedule and Block schedule. The Day schedule is the current way of defining the schedule from start time to end time, while the Block schedule allows for defining blocks for each day of the week.

  3. There can be certain employees who need to have Day schedules, while certain employees have the block schedule. A new profile parameter, Enable block period schedules as default schedule type, has been added, so that employees who have a block period work schedule can create absences from the block periods. The location blocks can be used to define the block timings for employees.

  4. When the employee creates an absence, they can use individual blocks for which they want the absences to be created.

  5. The import template for adding an employee block schedule is as follows:

E|A|3|<Access ID>|<Location ID>|<Classification ID>|<Day of the week>|Y|<Block name>|||

For example:

E|A|3|12345|123|13567|Mon|Y|Block A|||

Where, Access ID is 12345, Location ID is 123, Classification ID is 12567, Day of the week is Monday, Block name is Block A.

Reports

Improvement

Reason dependency on other reasons' completed balance

A new Used After option has been added to the Reason configuration to support scenarios where a reason can only be used after another reason's balance is fully exhausted.

To set this up, configure the reason that should be used later, and in its Used After dropdown, select the reason that should be used first.

Create/Edit Job

Improvement

Application overview videos for employees and substitutes

Added help videos to the Help section for employees and substitutes to provide an overview of key application features. These videos are particularly useful for new employees.

Parameters - Jobs

Improvement

Minor change in wording of assignment cancellation notice on job split

When a substitute is removed from a split segment of a multi-day assignment, the previous cancellation message incorrectly implied that the substitute initiated the cancellation. The wording has now been updated to accurately reflect that the substitute was canceled out of the assignment.

Profiles, Reports

Issue

Adding a radio button type custom profile field for Substitute’s view/edit

Custom radio button profile fields have been enhanced so that they can be configured for substitutes to view and/or edit directly from the Personal Information section of their profile.
