The Mobile App is an optional feature with Professional Learning that can be used to help instructors take Attendance for the sections they are instructing. End users can use the Mobile App to view courses/sections they are registered for and scan a QR code to mark themselves present in the section.

The Mobile App for Attendance Widget is displayed by default in the Professional Learning Dashboard. Within this Widget, there are instructions for how to download the app, as well as your district’s unique District Code.

Task 1: Download and Login to the Mobile App

  • Navigate to Professional Learning > Dashboard

  • View the Mobile App for Attendance widget, follow the steps to download the app.

  • Once downloaded, open the app on your phone or tablet, click Professional Learning

  • Enter your District Code

  • Sign in using your district credentials

Participants register for their courses and sections online via a web browser. Once officially on the roster, the course will appear in the user’s mobile app as a course they are attending.

Instructors must be added as an Instructor to the section online via a web browser. Once named as an instructor, the course will appear in the user’s mobile app as a course they are instructing.

Instructors take attendance:

  • Instructors can then open the app and click the course they are instruction to view the roster. They will click on a user to display a check and mark the user attended.

  • If your district uses Table Tents or Name Tags, the instructor can use the Mobile App to scan the individual QR codes that participants present.

  • If participants also have the mobile app, they can open the app and tap “My Code.” The instructor can then use the Mobile app to scan that QR code for the participant present.

  • If your district is using a Sign-in Sheet and includes the QR code on the sheet, participants can open the Mobile App, select “Scan Section Code” and scan the QR code from the Sign-In Sheet to mark themselves attended.

Configuration checklist

  • Log into Mobile App

  • Take attendance in the App as an instructor

  • Mark your attendance in the App as a participant
