Create PD Playlists
Get Started
- Choose Professional Learning from the main menu.
- Click Manage, then choose Manage PD Playlists.
- Click Create PD Playlist.
- Enter a Title.
- Click Create.
Enter PD Playlist Details
- On the Details tab, enter the playlist settings.
- If you set an End Date and credit is assigned to the playlist, participants must complete all required courses by the end date in order to receive credit.
- To permit anyone to find and join the playlist, select Include in Course Catalog. Otherwise, participants must be added manually.
If selected, choose when participants can join the playlist.- Allow participants to join starting on date releases the playlist into the catalog before participants can join. Select the first date a playlist participant can join this playlist.
- Do not allow participants to join prevents playlist participants from joining the playlist. Use this setting to expose a playlist in your catalog that has an alternate registration process.
- To add playlist moderators, click Add. Find and select users, then click Add Moderator(s).
- To add playlist participant managers, click Add. Find and select users, then click Add Participant Manager. The playlist participant manager will be able to add or remove participants. All other functions are view-only.
- To attach materials, such as agendas, click Attach File. The attached files can be viewed by all playlist participants.
- If you want participants to receive transcript credit for completing the playlist, select Allow Credit for Transcript.
- Click Add.
- Enter the desired number of credits.
- Click Submit for Approval.
Add Participants
- Choose the Participants tab.
- Select the appropriate participant options.
- Click Add/Modify Participants.
Add Participants Manually via Search
- Click Add User(s), then choose Search for Users.
- Find and select the participants.
- Click Add # Users.
Add Participants Manually via Identifiers
- Click Add User(s), then choose Add Using Advanced Method.
- Select the type of identifier and separator to use.
- Paste the identifiers into the field provided.
- Click Preview.
- From the list of users associated with the identifiers provided, select the participants.
- Click Add # Users.
Add Participants Dynamically with Rules
- Click Add Criteria, then choose Add Dynamic Rule.
- Select the rule filters.
- For each rule filter, select the specific criteria.
- Click Add.
- Choose Include or Exclude for the rule.
Add Participants Dynamically with Staff Groups
- Click Add Criteria, then choose Add Staff Group.
- Find and click the staff groups.
- Click Close.
- Choose Include or Exclude for the group.
Finish Participants List
- In the resulting list, remove users who should not be participants by clicking Excluded.
- Click Save and Close.
Add Courses
- Choose the Courses tab.
- If you select Allow Participants to Add Courses, courses added by participants will be optional.
- Click Add Courses.
- Find and select the appropriate courses.
- Click Add.
- In the course list, determine whether each course is Required or Elective.
Confirm Discussion Board
- Choose the Discussion tab.
- Select or clear Enable Discussion Board.
Configure Notifications
Messages can be configured for two trigger events:
- When a participant is added to the playlist.
- When a participant completes the playlist.
- Choose the Notifications tab.
Select the necessary notification.
- Enter a Title and Message.
- Choose a Delivery Method.
- For messages delivered via email, select the Email address in the From field.
Release the Playlist
You must release the playlist for it to be viewable by participants.
Click Release.
- To confirm your action, click Release again.

Build a PD Playlist – at minimum, set details, courses, and release
Release PD Playlist
Determine if additional credit will be issued for completing the PD Playlist. If so, set the PD Playlist to Allow Credit for Transcript.
You are ready to approve PD Playlist Credit (if issuing additional credit for PD Playlist completion).
