If your district already uses Professional Learning, separate user provisioning is not required for Coaching & Mentoring. However, districts must upload the mentor and mentee list, along with their mentorship pairings, because mentors and mentees represent a specific subset of users in Professional Learning.
What is updated based on user account information in Professional Learning?
Administrative roles managed through Role Management stay synchronized with user account status and basic user information from Professional Learning, including name, demographic tags, location, primary role, and email address. Automated role assignment uses a user's location and demographic tags, so role assignments update when those account details change. For example, if a user's account becomes inactive in Professional Learning, the user's access to Coaching & Mentoring is also revoked. Similarly, if a user no longer has the “Lead mentor” demographic tag, the corresponding Lead Mentor role assignment and related access are revoked. Data synchronization typically takes effect overnight.
What user information is managed locally in Coaching & Mentoring?
Mentor and mentee lists, mentorship relationships and mentoring related mentee attributes including Content Area, Mentee Type and Program are managed locally in Coaching & Mentoring. If a user is no longer a mentor or mentee, or if a mentorship relationship needs to be updated, the user's Coaching & Mentoring account can be deleted or deactivated depending on whether mentoring data already exists.
What user information is sent back to Professional Learning?
If enabled, a user's mentoring hours can be sent back to the user's Professional Learning transcript. Accumulated mentoring hours appear under the selected credit areas.
