Classification Groups

You can assign classifications to multiple classification groups. 

Use classification groups:

  • To set up reason menus. Reason menus determine if different types of personnel should be offered different reason codes when reporting absences or vacancies.
  • For job inquiries and to produce reports on employees, substitutes, and jobs.
  • To complete Substitute profiles.

Classifications groups may or may not represent a hierarchy of classifications:

Classification Group

Classification/Classification Group

All Teachers

  • Elementary Teachers
  • Secondary Teachers

Elementary Teachers

  • Grade 1
  • Grade 2

Bus Drivers

  • Driver Level 1
  • Driver Level 2

Add a Classification Group

  1. From System Configuration, choose Classification Groups.
  2. Click New.
  3. Enter the Code and Name, then click Save.
  4. Click Classifications for the new group on the Classification Group List.
  5. Click New.
  6. Choose the Classifications for the group.
  7. Click Save.

Manage Classification Groups

  1. From System Configuration, choose Classification Groups.
  2. Click the Group you want to modify.
  3. Edit the fields as necessary.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Delete to remove the group.

Modify or Delete a Classification from a Group

  1. From System Configuration, choose Classification Groups.
  2. Click Classifications for the group you want to modify.
  3. Click New.
  4. Choose the Classifications, then click Save.
  5. To remove a classification, select Delete, then click Delete.
