Track Learner registration status

The Course Insights Dashboard is designed to provide Professional Development (PD) administrators—including site, district, regional, and state-level users—with actionable insights into course participation and learner progress.

When an admin opens the dashboard for the first time, they can check how learners are doing in courses that started within the past six months or will begin in the next six months.

This visual dashboard allows admins to:

  • Monitor learner progression toward course completion.

  • Identify how learners are distributed across different roster statuses.

  • Filter and categorize data to better understand course engagement trends.

They will only see information for learners they have permission to view. For more information on configuring access to the Course insights dashboard, refer to the Manage Course insights dashboard page.

With powerful filtering and customizable settings, the dashboard helps make informed decisions to drive professional learning success within your district.

To navigate, click Professional Learning, select Dashboard, and click Course insights.

Check Roster status

The main dashboard widget features a stacked bar graph that visualizes the number of participants in various roster statuses across course groupings.

  • Y-axis: Displays course categories (e.g., Course Tags, Course Types, Offices).

  • X-axis: Represents the number of learners.

  • Legend: Indicates the roster statuses (e.g., Registered, Completed) defined by your district.

To access detailed learner data:

  1. Click the Roster Status Details button at the bottom of the widget. Roster status details allow you to view enrollment and completion details by course in a tabular form.

  2. Review course-specific data, including:

    • Course category

    • Course ID and title

    • Number of active sections

    • Number of users per roster status

  3. Click a course title to drill down into section-level learner details.

  4. View learner-specific data such as:

    • Employee ID

    • Name

    • Email

    • Section ID and title

    • Primary location

  5. On both the course and section details screens, click the CSV export option to download and analyze the data offline.

Each instance and its corresponding roster status are displayed if a learner is in multiple sections.

Participant site

Show data only for learners from selected sites.

Staff Groups

Focus on learner progress within specific staff groups, such as "CS School Users".

Course tags

Limit results to courses associated with selected tags, such as "Mental Health".

Courses

Select specific courses to view progress, especially for compliance tracking.

Roster status

Choose which roster statuses to display, for instance, Registered, Completed, Pending Survey.

To remove applied filters, click Clear Filters.

Configure settings

Click the Settings button on the dashboard to change how the Y-axis groups courses.

Category Options:

  • Course Tags: Groups by predefined tags like “Leadership” or “Mental Health.”

  • Course Types: Groups by course classification (e.g., Online, In-person).

  • Offices: Groups by the organizational office responsible for the course.

After selecting a category, click Save to update the dashboard view.
