Customizable course field instructions: Tailor your sub-headers

Super users can now customise sub-header instructions for specific course fields, such as Course Title and Course Description, directly within course forms. This enhancement allows for tailored instructions per course type, overriding default Field Bank instructions as necessary.

When editing these fields, a new custom instruction text entry feature is available, ensuring that instructional guidance is aligned with client-specific requirements across different course type forms.

The system will prioritise these custom entries, with a fallback to existing Field Bank instructions or no text if none is available.

New Feature: Customizable initiator visibility in training teasers

Introducing a new configuration feature: "Hide Initiator in the Recommended/Required Training Teasers."

This setting allows administrators to toggle the visibility of initiator details, such as "[required/recommended] by NAME on DATE," within training teasers. Accessible through the Course Teaser Options in Configuration Management, this feature is enabled by default for Broward clients and disabled for others.

Require complete attendance before Roster Status change in PdAdmin

Added a new configuration point in Roster and Waitlist settings allows for this requirement, displaying a message if attendance is incomplete. To ensure accurate roster management, attendance must be fully accounted for before users can change roster status in the Manage Roster Screen. Users missing attendance records will be skipped during bulk updates but can still be marked complete through third-party systems like Canvas or Google Classroom.

Restrict Edits to Archived Courses

Archived courses are now set to be non-editable to ensure data integrity. Once a course or section is archived, edits are restricted unless it is unarchived or copied. Users can copy sections, manage attendance, or cancel but cannot modify section settings, room assignments, or instructor lists. For bulk management, edits are permitted only on unarchived courses. An information icon now highlights that archived courses will not be updated in the bulk management process.

Enhanced Transcript Reporting with Components

The transcript report will now include a components field, addressing multiple customers' reporting needs. This enhancement ensures internal and external credit components are displayed for completed courses. If components are enabled, the report will show the component number and title. Users can filter results using standing filters. The components field will not appear in the report unless the component feature is enabled. The functionality applies uniformly across both adhoc legacy and pdadmin systems.

Customize available credit areas in Course Transfer

Users can now customize which credit areas are available in the course transfer credit system through PdAdmin. A new configuration option added to Configuration → Credit Areas allows users to enable or disable credit areas, enhancing the application's self-service capabilities. This update does not alter the existing TCM logic but ensures at least one credit area must be selected to avoid errors.

The legacy configuration for default course locations is now integrated into the PdAdmin configuration space, enhancing self-service capabilities. Accessible via PdAdmin → Configuration → Course Location Settings, this feature allows PdSuper Users to assign locations to new courses. Any changes will be immediately updated in both legacy and PdAdmin configurations. No changes were made to the existing logic.

Observers can now share a condensed version of observation ratings with teachers, displaying only selected ratings. This enhancement eliminates the need for teachers to scroll through unchecked items, providing a streamlined view similar to the PDF condensed report. This feature enhances clarity and efficiency in feedback sharing.

Dashboard Now Supports Larger Images Up to 8MB

We've increased the dashboard character limit to support larger images. Previously, images exceeding 5000 bytes could not be displayed due to hardcoded restrictions. Now, users can add images of up to approximately 8MB, enhancing the visual capacity and flexibility of the dashboard widgets. This improvement ensures a smoother and more effective user experience when integrating larger image files.

Enhanced Email Transparency with Admin Log Access

Admins can now easily access a log of scheduled emails sent by the PL system through a new feature in the UI. This enhancement addresses frequent client requests for tracking email notifications, providing details such as the sender, recipients, and status of emails from the past 90 days. The Navigation log is accessible via a link on the Admin Tab, specifically for tnl.admin users, and includes sorting and filtering options for efficient navigation. Sensitive information may be displayed, so caution is advised.

Track Roster Credit Updates within Roster

Introducing the CreditChangeAuditLog in each roster record, to enhance transparency in roster credit updates. This new table meticulously logs all credit alterations, capturing the actor, action type, date, credit type, and associated user. Actions tracked include registration assignments, manual updates, transcript updates, and legacy-related adjustments. These modifications are visible in roster notes and messages within the roster section, providing clear records of changes to credits and registration status, even in bulk updates. Note, changes outside the application via SQL won't be tracked. This ensures comprehensive audit trails for better accountability and record-keeping.

Improved Focus Visibility for Keyboard Navigation

Interactive controls lack visible keyboard focus indicators, such as for the "Download PDF" and "Close Window" functions. This issue impedes navigation for keyboard users, particularly affecting those with visual, physical, or neurological disabilities. To address this, a visible focus indicator is present when controls receive focus. This fix is in conformance with the accessibility WCAG 2.2 level AA criteria 2.4.7.

Administrators can now access the discussion board from section views using the 'Launch Discussion Board' link. Learners can access the discussion board directly via the 'View Discussion Board' link in 'My Courses - Registered and Past Courses'. Note, the Course Catalog will not display this link. Permissions for discussion board access are refined, ensuring smooth navigation.

To address this, users can now see course and section details directly within “My Courses,” irrespective of catalog release status. This change ensures that section information is accessible through the user's roster but remains hidden in the public catalog.

Join Multiple Course Waitlists Seamlessly

Resolved an issue in the new course catalog screen where users were incorrectly shown as being on the waitlist for a course on the section details screen, even when they were not. This fix ensures that the waitlist status displayed accurately reflects the user's actual enrollment status, enhancing the reliability of course registration information. Users can now trust that their waitlist positions are correctly represented, leading to a smoother registration experience.

Payment error: 403 error

Resolved an issue where users were unable to use a coupon code as a payment method. When attempting to make a payment with a coupon code, an error occurred that prevented the transaction from being processed. The error logs indicated a 403 status code related to course management. The expected behavior is that the payment process should succeed without encountering a 403 error when a coupon code is selected as the payment method.
