Restricting Self-Approval in Course Workflows

Approvers who are also the course/section builders can now submit their items for review but are restricted from approving or denying them. A message will be displayed in the Approver slide-out when blocked, stating that self-approval is restricted by an administrator.

Note: SuperUsers remain exempt from this restriction. Help text has been added to clarify the behavior.

Course Recommendation Feature Restored

The Recommend feature has been reintroduced to the course catalog for users with the Can Recommend Courses permission. A Target button now appears in List View to begin the recommendation process.
Who gets it: Users with the appropriate group type and all SuperUsers.
Where to configure: Go to Configuration → Roles and Permissions → Site-Based Rights (Group Type) to manage access.

Accurate Learner Movement Between Roster and Waitlist in Schoology

Learner transitions between the roster and waitlist in SGY courses are now recorded accurately:

  • Learners moved to the waitlist are temporarily removed from the SGY roster.

  • Moving learners back to the roster restores them in SGY.

  • Any sync issues are logged via smart logging for easier troubleshooting.

Bulk Archive Courses and Sections

Users can now bulk archive or unarchive courses and sections:

  • In Bulk Manage Courses, the dropdown allows users to archive each selected course. The bulk archive workflow now enables users to archive or unarchive all selected courses at once.

  • In Bulk Manage Sections, new buttons let users bulk archive or unarchive sections.

Note: Unarchiving a course will not automatically unarchive its sections.

This update improves accessibility.

Resolved: Waitlisted Users Incorrectly Added as Admins in Schoology

A bug that caused waitlisted users to be granted admin access in Schoology has been fixed. The issue stemmed from users launching a course preview by clicking the Launch Schoology button on the Manage Course/Section screen.

Now, the system verifies whether the user has instructor or course creator access before allowing preview access. This prevents unintended assignment of admin privileges during course previews or future roster additions.

Professional Learning

Resolved issue with removal of credit approvers

Resolved an issue where credit approvers were inadvertently removed from approval workflows. Approval flows now correctly retain assigned approvers.
