Parameters - General

Improvement

Substitute callback number verification

A parameter has been added to block calls to unverified numbers and create the ability for Administrators to configure callback verification.

To enable this parameter, navigate through the menu path: Parameters, General section, and then select Enable callback verification feature. This parameter is at the end of the General parameters page and is turned Off by default. When turned On, the child parameter “Call only verified callback numbers” can be enabled, which is also turned Off by default.

  1. Enable callback verification feature: When this parameter is enabled, substitutes will be prompted to verify their callback numbers, that is, the numbers used to receive the automated job offer calls. This is recommended as part of telecommunication best practices, so that the calls are made to verified phone numbers and reduce the risk of contacting incorrect recipients.

  2. Call only verified callback numbers: When this parameter is enabled, substitutes who have not verified their callback numbers will not receive automated job offer calls. The system will skip calling unverified numbers; the jobs will still be visible on the web and mobile applications based on job shopping settings. It is suggested that this feature be turned On, only when most or all substitutes have verified their callback numbers.

Parameters - Employee - Substitution

Improvement

Each block period as separate absence

For school districts using block periods for employee work schedules, an additional configuration has been added within the menu path: Parameters, Employee, Broswer Access, select Enable block periods for employee schedules, and then select Consider each block as separate absence form for different substitution needs.

This parameter will be turned Off by default. When turned On, employees with work schedules in block period formats will see each block period on a separate absence form when creating absences. This allows employees to define substitution requirements individually for each block period. For example:

  1. Attach different documents per block

  2. Request substitutes for selected blocks only

  3. Assign pre-arranged substitutes for specific blocks

  4. Leave certain blocks without substitution coverage

This feature is recommended to be turned On, only if there is a desire to have different substitutes for each block period of the employee’s schedule.
