Product Updates
Product Area | Type | Summary | Release Note |
---|---|---|---|
General | Issue | Corrected Cut Off Printing | In some cases, long fields would cause text to run off the right side of the page when printing. Formatting was adjusted to fix this issue. |
General | Issue | Corrected Blank Page Printing | When printing documents or contracts, sometimes a blank page printed before the actual content. This has been fixed. |
My Tasks | Issue | Fixed Display of User Tasks | Users with many tasks were unable to load them all on their My Tasks page. These tasks now display properly. |
Documents | Improvement | Added Ability to View Resource Files | Previously, once a file was added to the Resource Library, it was difficult to view it again. Now users can download this file directly from the resource in the library. |
Documents | Issue | Removed Chat Icons from W-4 PDF | When printing the W-4 PDF, the last page included extraneous chat icons around the workflow information. These extra characters no longer appear. |
Documents | Issue | Fixed Document Viewing Access | If a document contained a library resource, and the person the document was assigned to did not have proper security access, the document would not display. That security setting is now limited to maintaining the Resources Library and is no longer checked when a user opens a document. |
Documents | Issue | Corrected Formatting When Printing Forms | When using Matrix, Long Answer Matrix, or Grid question types in a custom form, sometimes text was getting truncated. Printing has improved such that Long Answers are no longer truncated. Matrix and Grid answer-types have also been improved, but extremely large grids continue to risk being truncated. Number of supported columns is dependent on the data being printed. |
Reports | Issue | Optimized Large Report Exports | Previously, when running large custom reports and trying to export the results, the system would spin and not generate the report. We have optimized the report so these large files export successfully. |
Reports | Issue | Created User-Only Custom Reports | Custom reports always reported on document information, regardless of whether document fields were selected. Now user-only reports can be generated from Custom Reports. |
Reports | Improvement | Added Completed Dates to Custom Reports | When running a custom report, the form creation and submission dates currently appear. Now the report also includes the form workflow completion date. |
System Administration | Issue | Corrected Contact Log | When viewing the Contact Log for staff, if that staff member changed their email address, the messages in the log disappeared. This will no longer occur for staff, and the Contact Log shall display all messages sent to that employee. Please note this change shall be in effect as of the release, and historical contact logs may not show all messages. |
System Administration | Issue | Corrected LDAP Authentication Checkbox | If using LDAP, the "Do not authenticate with LDAP" option was not getting checked by default during the Begin Hire process. Now, when a new Records account is created via the Begin Hire process, this checkbox will be checked by default. |
Reminder- Internet Explorer 11 End of Support
What is happening?
Microsoft recommends using Microsoft Edge as a default web browser for optimal performance and support. As a result, PowerSchool will officially end support for Internet Explorer 11 beginning January 1, 2020. As technology evolves, we strive to grow and adapt to the most up-to-date browsers with the latest security features in order to best serve our customers. For more information, please visit the following article by Microsoft: Lifecycle FAQ – Internet Explorer and Edge.
What is the impact?
After January 1, 2020, any product issues that arise specific to Internet Explorer 11 browsers only will not be addressed. While this does not mean PowerSchool products will stop working on Internet Explorer 11, over time, users may see an increased level of Internet Explorer-specific bugs are not addressed.
What should I do?
To minimize web browser-related disruption, PowerSchool strongly recommends using Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Apple Safari or Mozilla Firefox as your default web browser.
